Besan laddu recipe

Besan Ladoo is a popular Indian sweet made by roasting gram flour with ghee, flavored with sugar & cardamom, and rolled into spherical little balls. This gluten free dessert with a beautiful yellow shade has a unique, rich flavor with a soft and melt in the mouth texture. You can prepare this tasty laddu on special occasions or festivals at home for your loved ones.


  • 1 cup besan(gram flour)
  • 1/4 ghee
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 pods cardamom
  • Almonds or pistachios


  • Add ghee and gram flour to a pan in low flame.

  • Stir the mixture continuously.

  • After 15 minutes it will start releasing ghee and will give a nice fragrant aroma.Roast gram flour for about 30 minutes.It should turn in to light brown colour.

  • Turn off the flame and let it cool down a bit.

  • Blend sugar and cardamom pods to fine powder.

  • Make sure the mixture is still bit warm.Add powdered sugar and combine well with your hand

  • Take handful of flour and shape it into medium-sized ladoo

  • Decorate the top of each ball with almonds and pistachios.

    Store it in airtight container and enjoy eating these delicious laddus.
